Friday - Summer Camp Registration Begins by Mail Feb. 3: The City of Evanston 2012 summer camp guide is now available. Starting this Friday, February 3rd, Evanston residents can mail in their registration forms for the many popular camps. Camps are available to a wide range of ages, from preschool to teenage to even an adult aquatic camp. Camps include general day camp as well as specialized camps for sports, arts, ecology and aquatics. Sign up for a couple of weeks or for the whole summer!

Saturday - Black History Month Celebration - Bluesman Vince Agwada Perfomance: Admission is free this Saturday at Fleetwood-Jourdain Center's upstairs gallery in celebration of Black History Month! Bluesman Vince Agwada will perform an unplugged set with music from his collection of blues compositions.

Sunday - Evanston Symphony Russian Concert: The Evanston Symphony Orchestra is putting on a spectacular show this weekend. Don't miss out as Bella Hristova performs "Night on Bald Mountain" at the ETHS Auditorium this Sunday, February 5th. Act fast, and get your tickets online.

Explore Chicago's African American History Online Through the "Chicago Defender" Archives: As Evanston aims to expand the knowledge of local and African American history, the Evanston Public Library is pleased to announce a new online history resource. The Chicago Defender is one of the most renowned black news sources relevant to Evanston's African American community, and it is now available to Evanston residents.

Make this Valentine's Day Special by Breaking the Smoking Habit: This Valentine's Day, wouldn't it be nice to surprise that special someone with news that you've kicked the habit of smoking? If you're an Evanston resident and over the age of 18, you are eligible to receive up to 8 weeks of free nictotine patches. Free Tax Preperation Outreach: As we all know, tax season is on the horizon. LIFT-Evanston, the only IRS-certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance in Evanston, offers free tax preparation for qualified individuals. Appointments are being scheduled from January 28 through April 13th.

City's Senior & Disabled Persons Snow Shoveling Program: Extend a helping hand this winter season by offering your volunteer snow shoveling services! Sign up with The City of Evanston's Senior & Disabled Persons Snow Shoveling program to connect with residents in need of some shoveling assistance during entire 2011-2012 snow season. Online Homework Help Launched at the Evanston Public Library: If you are looking for homework help, look no further than Brainfuse, an online homework help service providing live, online support to students in many different areas. All that's required to log in is a valid Evanston Public Library card and internet access. A great feature of Brainfuse which is available to all students is the Writing Lab.
